Why we are in Jordan

I've had several people ask why we are in Jordan for a year so here it goes.

Josh is a middle eastern FAO (foreign Area Officer). We spent the last year and a half in Monterey, California at language school (DLI). Josh learned Arabic. Now he is on a 1 year immersion tour in Jordan to travel the country, learn the culture, and get better at the language. We are so glad that this is an accompanied assignment. The family will travel with him to as many countries in the middle east as we can. His travel is paid for but we have to pay the families way. We are very excited for this great opportunity and will try to squeeze in as much as possible in this next year. Fortunately there is a lot to see and do right here in Jordan! 

My blog will be mostly for a family record of our year here. I plan to print a blog book for the kids when we get back to the states to help them remember their time here.
