More Snow Fun!

It snowed for about 6 hours!! When people said that it sometimes snowed here I thought that they meant it snowed for 10 minutes or so. Wow, every one here is shocked and having so much fun!! There are people out all over playing in the snow. I think that we got about 6 inches.
The kids helped me make a snowman. Katie got cold and tired but Joseph stuck in there longer than me. I think he played outside for about 2 hours! He LOVES it!!

SNOW!!

It's been snowing for hours at Fort Irwin! It's still snowing, too!!We took the kids to the golf course about a mile from our house to go sledding. The kids asked "what's sledding?" Ha Ha.

They lasted less than 10 minutes.

Katie and Joseph liked it at first but then their little hands got cold. Joshua hated it from the minuet he went outside!

In the big grassy field in front of our house there is about a 7-8 ft snowman. We saw other huge snowman in the nieghborhood as we drove around.

Bathroom trouble

What happens when you let a 2 year old wash his hands by himself for 5 minutes?

Need I say more about this?

The best tire swing ever!

My parent have this really huge tire swing that the kids LOVE!!
Josh put a board in the bottom of the tire so that the kids could sit in it.
They spend a lot of time on the tire swing.

Funny story

So Katie fell off a swing at the park and scraped her chin. It was only about the size of a quarter. She was so upset over this and a band aid wasn't working (she was still crying). Since she gets this part of her from me I used a technique that my Dad used on me occasionally. So I put a big ace bandage on her and guess what it fixed her completely!! I know my Dad thinks it's just great that I have a daughter like me!!

San Diego trip Oct. 2008

We spent the first afternoon at the beach. It was perfect weather and the beach is on the navy base in San Diego so there was almost no one there! The was an airport/ landing strip right next to the beach and jets and plane were landing so close, it was so cool!
Katie spent almost the entire time building a sandcastle/pool. She and Joseph tried out the ocean for may be 10 minutes. They definitely prefer the beach!
Joshua loved the sand. The little "pool" that we made was perfect for him!

Joseph played with his dinosaurs the whole time. He was very scared of the sea gulls. The pesky sea gulls ruined all our snack with in the first 5 minutes. It was all in bags so I thought it was safe. When I tried to get the kids to chases them away with me Joseph refused!

A few weeks ago we went to Sea World with the kids. Active duty military can get in free once a year, yeah! The kids loved it!

Josh and Katie on the Elmo/pig/fish ride

We got away with a sea world trip for $4.00 on Cotton candy! The kids loved it. This is at our favorite show, the sea lion show.

The polar bear

We were hitting everything at the prefect time. This whale was showing off for his food, it was awesome. There were 2 of them and they were doing tricks for probably 15 minutes.

We missed this last year because we thought we had to hit all the show and planned this last. Of course by that time they were asleep. so this year we did it first and they LOVED it!
It is huge rope net area with tunes and suspended bridges and ends with a slide. It is big enough for adults to go in too!

Part of the rope net.

Joseph and I on an Elmo/dog/fish ride!

Josh, Joseph, and Katie on the spinning star fish ride.

We are excited for next year when we can go again!!

Update

Katie (4 1/2)
She is growing up so fast. It is so fun to sit a talk to her. She draws and draws. She has her own notebook that she takes with her and draw a lot of pictures. She started kindergarten this year with me and is doing great. She is so proud of herself. It has been so rewarding to see her progressing. She loves to say the "Pledge of Allegiance", and sing the primary songs that we are working on. She is just learning how to read and can sound out simple words. She is such a sweet little angel girl!
Joseph (2 1/2)
The best words to describe him would be "wild man" or "all boy". Josh still calls him fatty (it's an endearing term in our home). Joseph loves to play with Katie. He wrestles everyone! Katie is a real good sport about it. She just picks herself back up when he crashes into her. It's really funny to see. He goes to "school" with Katie and I'm amazed at what he picks up. He knows his ABC's and their sounds. He loves to learn and soaks things up like a sponge. He is a fun little boy!
Joshua (11 months)
He's walking!! He's been walking good for about a month. He is working on his fourth tooth. He wieghs about 20lbs ( give or take depending on his diaper!). He has been a fun baby. Very diferent from the other two. He tries so hard to be a big kid. He tackles Joseph and makes him cry, ha ha! He acts older than he is. He also loves to look through books and coloring. He is so much fun!!
Baby #4
Due June 25, 2009!! Katie and I are hoping for a girl and Josh of course wants another boy. What do you think it will be? Vote at the bottom!!

LA Fair Sept. 2008

Yeah this is old. I was waiting for Josh to come up with some funny lines but oh well, here it is (2 months later)!!
Joseph was so scared of the big bugs!

Joseph loved the goats!!
He's scared to death of chicken but he'll grab goats by their heads and make them look at him. He has no fear!!
They had a big pile of snow.

Katie and Josh after riding the really big Ferris wheel. It was the only ride we did. Katie picked it!

My little Fire Fighters!!

Chef Katie!
There was a room set aside for job pretending.

At the end of the clip he bumps his head on a board!!
He ended up doing that a few times while we were there, one time he ran into it hard enough he landed on his behind!

Katie Style!

I have a few more picture I'll add later, They aren't on my computer right now. Katie loves to dress herself and do her own hair. Sometimes when we need to go out somewhere and she has gotten herself dressed, I'll suggest that she put something on that I've picked out. To this she sternly tells me that she already got dressed. I should make and sell badges or buttons that say something like "I dressed myself today". Moms would love it and kids would proudly wear it!!

Joshua and an oreo cookie, What a mess!!

Getting himself dressed

Joseph loves to wear Josh's clothes. He tried to put this shirt on.
His head in through an arm hole,
His arm is through the neck hole,
His leg is through an arm hole too,
and His other arm is coming out the bottom!!
He is so proud of himself!

Fun in the backyard!

Joshua and Katie don't like to be dirty!

Joshua want to be a big kid so bad! He's always following Katie and Joseph around like up the stairs, wrestling, outside, inside, to the table, and well everywhere! He's such a fun baby!!
Joseph doesn't really care if he has his swimsuit on or not, he love the pool! I'm glad that Katie usually will wear her swimsuit.

The dinosaurs are always getting stuck in the "sinking sand". They always act out parts on "The Land Before Time" movies. Lucky us we now own 5 of them. If you've been around Joseph in the last few month you'd know that he is obsessed with dinosaurs!

This is what typically goes on at our house most afternoons. They love to play with the hose. They fill up their bucket AKA swimming pool. They think it's great fun when the backyard gets flooded! I'm the glad that the kids don't seem to mind our awful rocks.

Typical 2 year old with a permanent marker

I like the Black lipstick!!

Cousins

Joshua and Nahaeva (Michael and Courtney's baby).

Reading lessons

Lucky for Grandpa, Joseph was there to teach him how to read!!

A day in the mountains

We went up to the mountains. Joseph was being so funny. He was eating everything without his hands.

Katie had a blast in the creek. She was wearing funny pink goggles (mostly out of the water).
Joseph + dirty hands + really tired = A dirty eyed little boy!!

He got so dirty!!

Homecoming!!

My little, I mean younger, brother got home from his mission in August from Idaho. The kids and I went up to Fresno for a few days.

Helicopter

The kids got to go in a Black Hawk helicopter Saturday. They thought it was pretty cool. I thought it was impressive too. Josh has gotten to ride in them quite a few times so looking at them isn't so cool. He does say that it the best ride he's ever had and can't wait to go again.

Joseph and the fireworks

Saturday night Fort Irwin had a fireworks show. Yes the rest of the USA had theirs on the 4th of July but hey we live on an army post and nothing they do makes sense. Anyways we were sitting in the big grassy field in front of our house. The kids were running around with some glow in the dark sticks. This field is pretty big and they were at the other end when the first fireworks went up. They were setting them off right behind or neighborhood so they were really close and loud. Joseph and Katie both were screaming and running to Josh and I. I had no idea that Joseph could run that fast! I wish that I had it on video. His short little legs were moving sooooo fast! Ha Ha!
Katie wanted to go in the house and Joseph fell asleep before the fireworks were over!
Kids make life so much FUN!!!
